Orcan Energy AG

Orcan Energy’s solutions offer companies in various industrial sectors the opportunity to convert unused waste heat into CO2-free and very inexpensive electricity and simply use it themselves or feed it into the grid.

Orcan Energy’s first module went into operation in 2009. However, the story of Orcan Energy began back in 2004 with research into a small ORC system at the Technical University of Munich. In 2008, Dr. Andreas Schuster, Richard Aumann and Dr. Andreas Sichert founded Orcan Energy.

Right from the start, they were aware that the small power plants they developed had to be flexible, easy to install, low-maintenance and robust in order to be used by as many customers as possible to tap into the huge global energy potential. In the production of its efficiency PACKS, Orcan Energy therefore relies exclusively on proven standard components. This is possible thanks to an innovative design developed in-house and already protected by over 100 patents, which makes the operation of the solutions particularly stable and low-maintenance. Orcan technology can be connected to a variety of waste heat sources and is now used almost everywhere where waste heat is generated: in foundries, biogas plants, in glass and building material production, in breweries and in ship and truck engines. And it can be used at temperatures as low as 60 degrees Celsius.
