Infrastructure
Solar Projects Infrastructurconcept
The infrastructure concept is designed and coordinated with the relevant authorities to meet the government’s goal of expanding renewable energy and are in line with national plans for energy infrastructure development. The concept follows the government’s goal to expand and diversify the power generation fleet with renewable energy solutions, modernize the existing grid, and increase and secure distribution capabilities.
A long-term and sustainable strategy is being pursued for the development of renewable energy in the country and the associated infrastructure. The investments in the 345kV grid infrastructure follow the national expansion plan, with the construction of the connection from SE-Bonao III to SE-Nordeste as part of the planned ring closure from SE-Bonao III to SE-Cabreto.
The SE-Bonao III connection to SE-Nordeste will thus be the advanced start of the urgently needed ring closure and an utmost important infrastructure for the near future, as it increases reliability, which is crucial for a public electricity service and part of the overall expansion planning from SE-Naranjo to SE-Cabreto.
The SE-Naranjo to SE-Cabreto connection is a much-needed alternative to the existing SE-Naranjo to SE-Julio Sauri / SE-Cabreto connection, on which the supply of the major cities of Santo Domingo and Santiago currently depends entirely.
